Which Courses Are Available at Our Leicester Training Centre?

Ear Anatomy & Otoscopy

Specifically designed for healthcare professionals, our Ear Anatomy & Otoscopy course can function both as an introduction and a refresher. It not only teaches basic understanding of the ear’s anatomy, but also equips you with the knowledge needed to properly assess the health of the ear, which is an essential part of every hearing care professional’s practice. Not only this, but the course will also provide you with the skillset to safely practice gold standard otoscopy in accordance with BSA guidelines.

The course lasts for three hours and includes both theory-based and practical training. The theory section will allow you to develop or enhance strong foundational skills in Audiology, and the practice part will teach you various essential skills, including proper handling of the otoscope, correct bracing of the face, comprehensive examination of the external ear and the ability to identify a healthy ear canal and ear drum, as well as any abnormalities that might be present.

This course is a requirement for those with limited Otoscopy knowledge or practice, before taking part in out Earwax Removal course.

Earwax Removal

This comprehensive course aims to provide occupational health technicians with the necessary skillset for performing earwax removal by several different methods. It includes both theory-based training and field practice and is designed to allow the technician to perform the service at the workplace or to the general public.

The first day of the course covers the theory section which will teach you about different ear disorders, earwax & cerumenolytics, the different methods of earwax removal, as well as the instruments they involve. Additionally, the course will discuss client consent and the documentation required to perform these procedures.

The second day will provide you with the essential hands-on experience that you need in order to confidently practice otoscopy, irrigation, and manual instruments usage on patients who need earwax removal.
